Organisational Development Specialist
and Executive Coach
I see myself as a growth and change agent, or if you will, an “impact player”. My passion in life is to help leaders and organisations to grow and transform to greatness. Growing up as the son of a successful businessman and lawyer, I planned to follow in my father’s footsteps by studying law and pursue a business career. As a young man, however, I had a spiritual encounter and became aware of my strong passion to make an impact in the lives of people.
Being an “eternal student” (and perhaps as part of my existential search for significance), I thoroughly enjoyed my studies. I eventually finished six degrees and a diploma, including an Honours degree in Psychology (Unisa), Diploma in counselling, Honours in Greek, Th.B., Master’s degree and Doctorate (NWU), with research studies on receptor-focused translation, self-management, leadership, small group and team dynamics.
Since 1990 I have been involved in organisational transformation and strategic alignment, leadership training, team development, executive coaching, and relationship enrichment – first, mainly as a pastor in church settings, and from 2006 in the business and corporate world.
I am happily married to Mariëtte. Together we have three biological children: Marli (engaged to Josh), Hanno (married to Sian), and Ruan (married to Jani). Through the years young people would join the Oostenbrink home for different lengths of time. In 2018 Dominique La Cock joined the family as our foster child.
